About Mudworks Studio
Hello, I’m Carrie.
I’m a ceramic artist, photographer, and multimedia painter with a background in interior design.
Mudworks Studio grew from a simple desire: to create objects that feel as intentional and grounded as the spaces we live in.
I believe the pieces we live with every day—mugs, bowls, vases, lamps—should offer quiet beauty and dependable function. They’re the touchpoints of daily life, the things our hands know by feel.
From hand to home,
with intention.
Every piece begins at the wheel, shaped slowly by hand and guided by a quiet attention to form, texture, and purpose. Working with natural clay and earthy glazes, I create stoneware designed not just to be seen, but to be lived with.
These objects are meant to move naturally from the studio into everyday spaces—to hold meals, flowers, light, and the small rituals of daily life. Thoughtfully made and built to last, each piece carries the presence of the hand that formed it and the intention to bring warmth, calm, and subtle beauty into the home.
What inspires my work
The Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi and the beauty of imperfection
Minimalism, open spaces, and quiet, editorial simplicity
Mountains, beaches, and the colors and textures found in nature
Interior design principles that balance function, form, and long-term use
I’m drawn to forms that feel familiar but slightly softened—edges that invite touch, glazes that recall stone and sand, and silhouettes that sit quietly in a room while still holding their own.
Who I create for
Mudworks pieces are made for people who value thoughtful design, understated elegance, and objects with a story. They’re for homes that embrace quiet luxury over loud trends, and for designers and shop owners who want work that feels timeless rather than temporary.
From a single mug on a morning desk to a full table setting for a dinner gathering, my hope is that these pieces become part of your daily rhythms—lived with, loved, and used.
